A remote tachograph download is the process of automatically collecting driver card and vehicle unit data from your tachograph without needing to manually download it..
With TachoMagic’s Automatic Download Device (TADD), this data is securely uploaded to your account in real time when the vehicles' ignition is on - saving time and ensuring you never miss a download.
How often do tachograph downloads need to be done?
Driver card data must be downloaded every 28 days and vehicle unit data every 90 days. TachoMagic’s remote download devices (TADDs) takes care of this automatically, keeping you compliant without the need for manual downloads.
Do I still need to manually download my tachograph data?
No. Once the TADD is installed, it automatically downloads both driver and vehicle data and sends it straight to your TachoMagic account. You’ll receive the same .DDD files as with manual downloads - only without the hassle!
How does the TADD device connect to my tachograph?
Remote download devices connect directly to the tachohead unit. This can be a real hassle, unless you buy the TADD bundle! This includes a specially made Plug 'n' Play cable that makes installation as simple as matching the colours! Installation takes around 10 minutes and doesn’t require a specialist fitter, saving you over £100 alone.
Can I view my tachograph data and reports instantly?
Yes. As soon as the data is uploaded, it’s automatically analysed by TachoMagic. You can view reports on driver hours, rest periods, infringements, and more in real time, or have them emailed to you on a schedule that suits you.
